AN INTRODUCTION
Course Overview
This first aid at work course complies with the Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981 for a first aider in the workplace. Each course is adjusted to suit the needs of the students. This is valid for 3-years with an annual update recommended.
This face to face course will be delivered by one of our highly experienced and engaging Paramedic instructors. Using their real life experiences, they are able to bring this course to life ensuring that all delegates are able to feel confident and competent upon completion of the course.
Training will be adapted to suit the learning needs of the delegates so that everybody has the same opportunities to succeed and includes a mixture of theoretical and practical elements.
Each day will run for 6 hours with regular breaks. Timings can be flexible to suit the needs of the client.
Duration: 18 hours over 3 days (or 1 day per week over 3 weeks)

This course is suitable for individuals designated as first aiders in medium to high risk workplace environments. It is also ideal for anyone seeking a comprehensive understanding of workplace first aid practices.
COURSE CONTENT
What Will You Learn
You will understand the roles and responsibilities of a first aider in the workplace.
You will learn how to confidently assess and manage a range of injuries, medical emergencies and how to safely use a defibrillator when providing life support.

The course utilises a variety of engaging methods, including:
- Instructor-led demonstrations

HOW YOU WILL PASS
aSSESSMENT mETHODS
- Participants are assessed through practical demonstrations and a written examination.
- Successful candidates receive an FAIB accredited First Aid at Work certificate, valid for three years.
- Annual refresher training is recommended to maintain skills and knowledge.
