AN INTRODUCTION
Course Overview
The First Aid at Work Requalification course is designed for individuals who hold a valid First Aid at Work (FAW) certificate and need to renew their qualification. The course complies with the requirements set by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) under the Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981.
This face to face course will be delivered by one of our highly experienced and engaging Paramedic instructors. Using their real life experiences, they are able to bring this course to life ensuring that all delegates are able to feel confident and competent upon completion of the course.
Training will be adapted to suit the learning needs of the delegates so that everybody has the same opportunities to succeed and includes a mixture of theoretical and practical elements.
Each day will run for 6 hours with regular breaks. Timings can be flexible to suit the needs of the client.
Duration:12 hours over 2 days (or 1 day per week over 2 weeks)

wHO sHOULD aTTEND?
This course is suitable for anyone whose FAW certificate is approaching expiration (within 28 days after expiry).
Attendees must provide proof of a current or recently expired FAW certification.
COURSE CONTENT
What Will You Learn
You will refresh and update your knowledge of the principles of first aid in the workplace. You will demonstrate your ability to assess situations and provide appropriate emergency first aid. You will be able to recognise and manage minor and major injuries, medical conditions and illnesses and be competent to perform lifesaving procedures including safe and effective CPR and AED use.

This course reviews key topics from the First Aid at Work Course including:
- Roles and Responsibilities of a First Aider
- Assessing Emergency Situations
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – CPR and AED Use
- Managing Unconscious Casualties
- Treatment of Wounds, Bleeding, and Shock
- Burns, Scalds, and Fractures
- Medical Conditions (e.g., heart attack, stroke, epilepsy, and asthma) Poisoning, Choking, and Anaphylaxis
- Spinal, Head, and Eye Injuries
- First Aid Equipment and Incident Recording
HOW YOU WILL LEARN

The course utilises a variety of engaging methods, including:
- Instructor-led demonstrations
- Hands-on practice of first aid techniques
- Group discussions and scenario-based learning
HOW YOU WILL PASS
aSSESSMENT mETHODS
- Participants are assessed through practical demonstrations and a written examination.
- Successful candidates receive an FAIB accredited First Aid at Work certificate, valid for three years.
- Annual refresher training is recommended to maintain skills and knowledge.
