This course is open to people with no prior medical training, as well as those wishing to refresh their existing skills.

In this CPR and AED course, you will learn how to assess an emergency situation and promptly activate emergency services. You will be trained in the essential CPR techniques for adults, children, and infants, ensuring you can effectively perform chest compressions and rescue breathing.

The course also covers the correct use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), teaching you how to administer a shock to a person in cardiac arrest.
You will learn how to manage choking in both conscious and unconscious individuals and recognise the signs of a heart attack or stroke, knowing how to provide immediate care until help arrives. The course is designed to provide you with the confidence and practical skills to respond quickly and effectively in life-threatening situations.

There is no formal assessment for this course. Candidates will have the opportunity for hands on practice and to ask any questions throughout.
