AN INTRODUCTION
Course Overview
The First Aid Annual Refresher course is designed to help qualified first aiders maintain their essential skills and knowledge in providing life-saving first aid treatment. Regular training can make the difference in life threatening situations.
While not a legal requirement, this course is strongly recommended by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) to ensure first aiders remain competent and confident in managing workplace emergencies between formal requalification courses.
This face to face course will be delivered by one of our highly experienced and engaging Paramedic instructors. Using their real life experiences, they are able to bring this course to life ensuring that all delegates are able to feel confident and competent upon completion of the course.
Training will be adapted to suit the learning needs of the delegates so that everybody has the same opportunities to succeed and includes a mixture of theoretical and practical elements.
The day runs for 3 hours with a break included. Timings can be flexible to suit the needs of the client.

wHO sHOULD aTTEND?
This course is suitable for all qualified first aiders holding a First Aid at Work (FAW) or Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) certificate.
This course provides the opportunity for first aiders to practise their skills and refresh and update their knowledge.
COURSE CONTENT
What Will You Learn
You will refresh and reinforce the key first aid principles and procedures whilst having the opportunity to practice life saving skills such as CPR and AED use. You will update your knowledge of current best practices and enhance your confidence in managing a variety of situations.
Topics Covered
This course reviews key topics from the First Aid at Work Course including:
- The Role of a First Aider
- Conducting a Primary Survey
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Performing CPR and using an AED
- Managing an Unconscious Casualty
- Treating Wounds and Bleeding
- Recognising and Managing Shock
- Responding to Minor Injuries

- Demonstrations and instructor-led reviews
- Hands-on practice with first aid scenarios
- Group discussions and skills refresh exercises

- There is no formal assessment for this course. Candidates will have the opportunity for hands on practice and to ask any questions throughout.
- A certificate of attendance will be provided for this course.
